What is Identity and Why Does it Matter?
Who are you when the titles, roles, and expectations fall away?
In the premiere episode of Reclaiming Identity, host Abbi DeWitt sits down with Kristen Zuray, founder of The Adi Project, to explore the question: What is identity? Kristen shares her personal journey of discovering who she was beyond the labels she carried and how identity is shaped by our experiences, relationships, faith, values, and wounds.
Together, they discuss how understanding your identity impacts your confidence, purpose, relationships, and ability to navigate life's challenges. If you've ever struggled with insecurity, people-pleasing, or feeling lost, this conversation offers hope, healing, and a path toward rediscovering who you were created to be.

Kristen Zuray: Welcome back to The ADI Podcast. I'm here with Lydia, and we are talking about something I think almost every leader I coach is quietly wrestling with — the feeling that one day, somebody is going to figure out you don't actually belong in the room.
Lydia Zuray: Yeah, and what's interesting is the people who feel it most are usually the ones most qualified to be there. The capacity is real. The credentials are real. But there's this gap between what's true on paper and what feels true in the body.
Kristen: Let's name that gap. Where does it come from?
Lydia: A lot of it is an identity question dressed up as a competence question. We think we need more proof, more wins, more letters after our name. But the ache underneath is: who am I, and is who I am enough? That's not a résumé problem. That's a soul problem.
For a Christian leader specifically, the answer can't ultimately come from performance. If it does, you'll need to keep performing forever just to stay in the room. That's exhausting, and frankly, it's not the yoke Jesus offered.
Kristen: So how do we start to close that gap in a real, practical way?

For leaders learning to build something that lasts.
The ADI Podcast was born out of thousands of coaching conversations with founders, executives, ministry leaders, and quiet servants who all kept asking the same questions: Who am I really? What was I made for? And how do I lead in a way that actually bears fruit?
Every episode is a conversation, not a lecture. Honest. Practical. Rooted in scripture and seasoned by real life. Designed to give you both the conviction and the courage to lead well.
"Real leadership begins the moment you stop performing."
